Yael Stone, who was born in Australia and living in New York City in 2013 was the character Lorna Mello as an inmate in Orange Is the New Black. Yael has a diploma from NIDA. Yael's early career has allowed her to meet and work with the best Australian storytellers. Yael is a well-known actress across Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael discovered her new home with the city of New York City when the production premiered to acclaim at The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). Yael was co-founder of The Cannery. From the Bushwick, Brooklyn studio, The Cannery encourages creativity, creative writing and innovative projects and assists in the development of young writers.
