Linda Blair

Linda Linda LindaLinda Blair was five years old when she was the first child actress to get a role in The Exorcist. She had been a model for three years before she acted as the child possessed, Regan. Linda quickly gained worldwide fame, was awarded the Golden Globe, and seemed poised to get her first Academy Award for that role However, after it was revealed about the fact that some aspects in the film weren't done by her (the demonic voice was dubbed by Mercedes McCambridge, and eight seconds of a stunt dummy were used) the dream was shattered in disappointment, which was probably the initial blow to what looked like the start of a successful career. Through the years, she was able secure lead roles in an array of movies. They included the highly successful television series Born Innocent and Sarah T. Sarah T. Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic in addition to Exorcist II - The Heretic. However, when she was forced by peers into purchasing cocaine before the age of 18, this led to being arrested and later sentenced to three years probation. Linda's professional career in Hollywood was relegated to B films, and occasionally guest appearances on TV after her well-publicized arrest on drug possession.
